The subject matter of this showcase is a satirical commentary on the toxic nature of religious extremism. It is not mocking God or anyone who believes in God. It IS mocking people who use God as a way to oppress, hurt, and disenfranchise others. The “God Hates F@G$” folks, the crooked politicians who twist the Bible to justify attacking members of the LGBTQ+ community and women’s bodily autonomy, the “Christian” and “catholic” individuals who twisted the Bible to justify the torture of those they deemed witches (primarily women) in order to steal their property and discourage them from practicing midwifery and holistic natural medicine, the colonizers who twisted the Bible to justify wiping out entire populations of indigenous people and stealing their land. The “God” we are mocking in our showcase is THEIR god — the god of money, greed, oppression, intolerance, misogyny, homophobia, racism, fascism, hate.

The Adam in our showcase represents them — a man with a fragile ego who uses God to justify his treatment of women, who expects women to serve his every need and fulfill his every desire, who believes he’s entitled to sex because he’s a man who can’t be bothered to shower or brush the Cheeto crumbs from his beard.

If they can twist the Bible to justify their abuse and righteousness, we can twist the Bible to mock them. And that’s what this is.

We understand the profound, comforting and healing impact on one’s life that a relationship with the creator can have— whether it be with God, a Goddess, the Universe, a higher power, Mother Nature, etc. The showcase is not meant to make a mockery of that relationship or anyone’s creator.

All Eve has ever known is Eden, the beautiful garden paradise she calls home. Or so she thinks. One day while wandering the garden, Eve is confronted by a posse of ancient goddesses who help her to remember her true identity and expose Eden for what it is— a paradisiacal prison. As the goddesses share their stories, Eve learns that she is not the first to be held captive in the garden.

Determined to put an end to Eden’s dark legacy and her captors’ reign of terror, Eve and her posse of immortals plot to liberate the idyllic garden and reclaim it as a safe haven for its former victims.

We do not tolerate any forms of shaming, bigoted, or bullying behavior. Guests are welcome to hoot, holler, whistle, cheer and, of course, show some extra love by making it   on our dancers!
